The Jalen L.Hunter Foundation was created from love and the desire to help others who have gone or are going through the tragedy of losing their loved one. My son as well as myself have always been doers from the heart so when my son Jalen L. Hunter’s life was taken away due to gun violence we started this non profit Foundation to not only honor my son’s name but to also be of some help to other families during their grieving and healing process due to the loss of their loved one.

Our goal is to have support groups for families to help with the grieving and healing process, workshops on the importance of life insurance, teaming up with other community members and discussing ways to stop gun violence in the community and also being a resource to the community. We want to provide back to school events, clothing vouchers, book bag giveaways, Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas toy drives, just being able to help families in need and doing it as a community. I think it takes a village to raise our children and to protect our families and I feel like we as a community have lost the importance of LOVE for one another and I want the Jalen L.Hunter Foundation to represent that love and compassion for one another.
