It takes a village to raise our children and to protect our families; we as a community have lost the importance of LOVE for one another.
Our mission is to be a resource to the community. The Jalen L Hunter Foundation will create support groups for families to help with the grieving and healing process, workshops on the importance of life insurance, teaming up with other community members and discussing ways to stop gun violence in the community.
Changing the world is possible. We’ve done it before.
The Jalen L. Hunter Foundation was created from love and the desire to help others who have gone or are going through the tragedy of losing their loved one. My son as well as myself have always been doers from the heart, so when my son Jalen L. Hunter’s life was taken away due to gun violence we started this non profit foundation to not only honor my son’s name but to also be of some help to other families during their grieving and healing process due to the loss of their loved one.

The Jalen L. Hunter Foundation has a 24/7 grief support hotline available now for all nationwide! Grief is a unique mental, emotional, and physical journey one goes through after the loss or departure of someone or something. That journey looks different for everyone, but through love and compassion we all grieve together. The JLHF hopes this new service will provide guidance to all that use it.
This service serves families grieving due to the loss of a loved one(s) to gun violence.

Justice For Jalen
My son Jalen L. Hunter was gunned down and murdered in the 500 block of Lewis St. in Hammond, Indiana, on August 24th, 2021. My family and I moved from Hammond 10 years ago to Jacksonville, FL. We traveled to Hammond for a family funeral. My son decided to stay some extra days to help a cousin with her children. While getting ready to go to the store and getting in the car he was shot and killed! As of now there are no witnesses that have come forward. If anyone else in this group has lost a child you can relate to my pain! I’m asking if anyone might hear of any information please call the detective working the case! My son has two boys (ages 6 and 2) that miss him immensely. Jalen has a 19 year old sister that he has practically helped raise, and she is not ok! We are not ok! Thank you for hearing me out!
